Arginine is an essential amino acid with a number of functions. It stimulates the release of growth hormone and prolactin: stimulates the release of glucagons and insulin; increases gastrin concentration and inhibits tubular reabsorption of protein. L-Arginine is the precursor for the production of nitric oxide, the body's natural vasodilator. It is also the precursor for collagen synthesis and together with fibroblast nitric oxide production is helpful for wound healing.

This product has been indicated for interstitial cystitis, vasodilation of peripheral and coronary blood vessels, erectile dysfunction, cyclosporine nephrotoxicity, wound healing and as an aid for athletic performance.
