Units refer to enzyme activity defined by the amount of substrate that a unit of specific enzyme will break down per unit of time according to the United Stated Pharmacopoeia (USP) and the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC).

The enzyme preparations are derived from non-animal sources and do not contain artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners, preservatives, chemical additives, wheat, yeast or animal derivatives.

Suggested dose for adults: Take 3-5 capsules at the beginning of each meal or as directed by your health care practitioner.

THIS PRODUCT IS MANUFACTURED FOR AND DISTRIBUTED TO HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS ONLY.

IB-Zyme is a potent blend of enzymes blended without protease. Therefore it can be used as a suitable digestive aid for patients with gastritis, gastrointestinal ulceration and irritable bowel. It also contains herbs that help repair and restore damaged and inflamed intestinal walls.

The enzymes used in IB-Zyme are carefully prepared to ensure the maximum possible activity. This is achieved through strict quality control procedures including raw material assays to verify activity. IB-Zyme is manufactured by a PHARMACEUTICAL LICENSED MANUFACTURER to strict GMP standards. The enzymes are pharmaceutical grade and contain no mycotoxins, fungi or other contaminants.

The enzymes are derived from non-animal sources and blended to remain active throughout a pH range of 2-12. This means they retain their activity in the acid conditions of the upper and the more alkaline conditions of the lower gastrointestinal tract.

As with Digezyme, The units used to describe the activity of the enzymes in Digezyme have been normalized to show their exact activity at 370C, human body temperature.

The specific function of each non-enzyme ingredient is as follows:

SLIPPERY ELM BARK AND MARSHMALLOW ROOT
Have been widely used for treating gastritis, peptic ulcers and colitis. They are high in mucilage, which soothes and heals irritated and inflamed intestinal walls.

APPLE PECTIN
Contributes soluble fibre to add bulk to the stool and control motility.

HESPERIDIN
Is the major bioflavonoid of oranges and lemons. It inhibits inflammation by limiting the release of histamine from basophils.

GREEN TEA EXTRACT
Reduces histamine release and is useful in preventing the symptoms of food allergies. It promotes the activity of naturally occurring anti-oxidant systems (e.g. Glutathione Peroxidase) and with hesperidin decreases the leakiness of blood vessels in the bowels.

L-GLUTAMINE
Is an excellent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant for the G.I. tract.
