Units refer to enzyme activity defined by the amount of substrate that a unit of specific enzyme will break down per unit of time according to the United Stated Pharmacopoeia (USP) and the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC).

The enzyme preparations are derived from non-animal sources and do not contain do not contain artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners, preservatives, chemical additives, wheat, yeast or animal derivatives.

Suggested dose for adults: Take 1-2 capsules at the beginning of each meal or as directed by your health care practitioner.

THIS PRODUCT IS MANUFACTURED FOR AND DISTRIBUTED TO HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS ONLY.

The enzymes used in Digezyme are carefully prepared to ensure the maximum possible activity. This is achieved through strict quality control procedures including raw material assays to verify activity. Digezyme is manufactured by a PHARMACEUTICAL LICENSED MANUFACTURER to strict GMP standards. The enzymes are pharmaceutical grade and contain no mycotoxins, fungi or other contaminants.

The enzymes are derived from non-animal sources and blended to remain active throughout a pH range of 2-12. This means they retain their activity in the acid conditions of the upper and the more alkaline conditions of the lower gastrointestinal tract.

Another consideration in choosing the right blend of enzymes is to utilize enzymes that are active at body temperature. This is an important but often overlooked factor in enzyme preparations. For example, a protease may have an activity of 60,000 units but only at a temperature of 250 C. At 370 C (body temperature), the same enzyme may only have an activity of 2,000 units, if any at all. The units used to describe the activity of the enzymes in Digezyme have been normalized to show their exact activity at 370 C, human body temperature.
